Default Spongy brakes after wheeling this weekend

I took my jeep off the pavement for the first time this weekend and noticed that after the esc kicked on a few times my brake pedal felt spongy. It's a 14 jku with 7k on the clock. I have 35's and. 2.5bb. I checked for brake fluid leaks but none that I can see. Also I am not loosing any fluid from the reservoir. I should mention that I was in about 20" of mud. Seems the troubles started after that.

I went to the dealer today and they claim they can't feel the spongy pedal and all is well because the esc isn't throwing any codes. I call BS on all that as I know there is something not right. Any advice? Anyone seen this before? I cleaned the calipers and rotors thoroughly and I still have issues. I'm guessing the abs system had a bit of air trapped in it from a faulty factory bleed and that air has somehow made it into the brake lines. Any idea how I can convince my dealer that something is wrong?

I would start by bleeding the brakes as air in the brake lines is the #1 for the spongy feeling of the brake pedal. This is a cheap and relatively quick fix. Then you can determine if you need to proceed further with the dealer if the spongy feeling remains.

I am out of the country for the next couple of weeks but if you want to bleed the brakes and need help, let me know.

Good luck.

Mine did the same thing over a year ago when I took mine off-road the first time. They are still spongy and sometimes the abs will kick in on asphalt with a little sand on it. They never did any of this before. If you find something please pass along.

Thanks man, I appreciate the response. I have bleed many a brake systems in my day but I really want the dealer to fess up and acknowledge that something isn't right. I'd bleed them myself but I don't have the software to do a ABS bleed. I am traveling for a few days next week so I may try to drop the jeep off at a different dealership. I tried Indian Trail Chrysler Jeep Dodge yesterday and they are insisting there is nothing wrong . I may try Keffer Jeep further up on 74. They sell a lot lifted Jeeps so maybe they will have a better understanding of what the brake pedal is supposed to feel like on a Jeep with 35's on it.
