Monstaliner? Anyone use this?
Very interested in bed lining the exterior of my jeep but not sure which route to go. I got quoted $3500 for near by linex shop, so I am looking for alternatives. I have seen some guys use raptor liner and monstaliner diy kits and seems pretty good. Just scared to take sand paper and bedliner to my jeep. I'm in florida btw, if anyone know a shops that is reasonably priced...
I am a huge fan of the raptor liner! Ever since I saw a few jeeps here with the interiors done I have been hooked.
I too was wanting to have the Line-x done but when it cost me $165 for my poison Spyder 50" lightbar & a-pillar brackets to have done I said screw that! I looked at a lot of liners and threads on liners and finally decided on the Raptor liner based on feedback as well as function. The Raptor liner, imo, is the closest to line-x in texture, strength, overall ease of application, and is also UV protected so it won't fade as fast. It also comes in a tintable version that you just have to add factory paint to or whatever color paint you want.
I have raptor lined my interior, hardtop interior and exterior, all my nemesis gear (front bumper/billy rockers/fenders), stock rear bumper, a friend's stock fenders, my LTs camper and his 8ft trailer. I love the raptor! It's been great, strong, and hasnt faded and is easy to touch up of need be. I kept my top off from April - October this past year with no fading noticed.
At autobodynow.com you can get a kit (4 bottles liner/1 bottle hardner) for $116 or $125 for same lot but with the gun.
I normally have put 3 coats on anything I have raptor lined. That's just me. I'm not a perfectionist but I want to make sure its got a good thick even coating.

I have been wanting to pull the trigger on raptor lining the whole exterior. I'm pretty confident in the liner and it's easy to apply. It's all about the prep work. It's just the thought of spraying your $34k+ jeep!
I will say that my hardtop exterior took every bit of 3 bottles. But like I said earlier, I like to make sure everything is coated really good. I would say for an entire jeep exterior it would take at least 3 kits. 3-4 bottles per coat. I think that would be best. But again, prep is everything!
Good luck with whatever you decide!
