Default Which is REALLY larger? GYWrangler MTR 305/70-17 or Mickey Thompson MTZ 315/70-17

So here are the specs on each tire:

Goodyear Wrangler MTR 305/70-17: 34.1" tall, 12.2" section width, 9.2" tread width
Mickey Thompson MTZ 315/70-17: 34.6" tall, 11.9" section width, 9.8" tread width

Going by the size stamped on each tire, the GY MTR would be shorter and narrower. But going by the dimensions listed by each manufacturer, the GY MTR would be shorter and wider, but have less tread width. The GY MTR is considered a 34". The MTZ is considered a 35". But of course we all know that the listed specs do not always match reality.

I currently have 33's. Don't really want to go to 35's (for reason's to due with gearing and towing), so I was thinking 34's. But I've read that the MTZ measures more like 33.5" in reality. I can't find any info on how tall the MTR is, except that most people say GY's run truer to the specs. Makes me wonder which tire is actually larger or if they measure the same. Has anyone seen these two tires in the sizes I've listed side by side? Or can some of you with one or the other give me measurements?
