3.8L Spark Plug Gap 0.065 vs 0.050
Will gaping the spark plugs to 0.065 instead of 0.050 with a stock coil n wire setup increase power in the lower rpm range or do you need a stronger coil, like the FirePower setup? Stock engine tuned with the 87octane FlashPaq setting.
The best spark plug gap is a compromise between idle, no load, and high speed, full load operation. Deviating from that gap with the OEM components will likely cause a loss of performance somewhere along the line.
Usually, with higher power coils, the gap can be wider than stock.
I don't know if there are aftermarket coils that are actually higher power than stock.

Upgrades to ignition only do not increase hp at all. The reason ignition needs to be upgraded is to get a more complete burn of the air/fuel mixture during the combustion process. The tune you have does not justify upgrading the ignition at all.
