Default Need help with tire pressure

So just put on 285 75 16's. Bought the tire and wheels at discount tire. They put the air pressure at 41 and assured and showed me that based on the factory settings, going down two inches in wheels size and the 16" MB wheels that the vehicle would not be safe aired down to 35. I wanted to try 35 and possibly go down to 30 like similar post. What are your thoughts on these recommendations?

I don't understand their reasoning but I don't see why you wouldn't be able to run a lower PSI

I wouldn't worry about dropping psi. My 35's were aired up to 40lbs by the tire techs as well. Rode way too firm! Dropped down to 30 and it feels much better.

Do the chalk test to get the best. Each Jeep and there are a lot variables that would affect your contact path.

What was the proof that they showed you?

I drop the pressure back down every time I leave there after the free balance/rotate.

I run 35" at 29 psi. I still think its too much and my chalk test does too. But way better then the 40+psi that the tire shop started me out the door with.

Air down at the trail to 12 psi. then air back up to 27 psi (to hard) thinking thats what I normally run (it's 24 psi.). Ive got 35000 miles on these tires and they are wearing evenly across. Depends on the tire your running, too
