Default Rancho 2" lift

Sorry. I tried to do a search. But j couldn't find any feed back.
So I've been looking at lift kits. Been looking at the Rancho 2" front coil spring with RX9000 shocks. Any feedback on this lift?
Trying to figure out the best option. Just put on DuraTrac 285-70/17's on stock rims. Putting 1.5" wheel spacers on and would like to do a 2-2.5" lift. But funds are tight. Need to try to find something in the $500 range. Would like to wheel with it with no problems or issues. But don't want to spend money now to just spend more later.

Any help and suggestions are greatly welcomed and appreciated.

Oh. 2012 jk sport unlimited.

Look back at my previous thread where I installed a rancho kit. Great setup.

Smart way of doing it, I pieced mine together. Thinking about sway bar links for the front you may need. Had to do that when I put my springs in, but I did mine half ass backwards by buying the shocks not wanting to lift.

With those small tires you do not need any lift. You could look into shocks and other things.

For the price point, with the RS9000 shocks and the rebate going on now it is tough to beat.
If you do see yourself going bigger, save up for a 3" system.
Good luck!

I've been running this lift for about 6 mo now with 35" tires on stock rims fenders trimmed and love the set up. Good ground clearance for the trails I run and still keeps the suspension geometry close to stock and COG low. Only complaint I would have is without a winch or a heavier aftermarket front bumper the front is raked up. I've got RK 1.5" lift springs on order to remove the rancho lift spacers in the rear to even out the rake and soften the ride in the back.

Ok. So please correct me if I'm wrong. That's the one complaint I've heard. Without a bumper/winch up front, the front is about 1.5" to 2" taller than the rear. The kit comes with a .75" front spacer as well as the rear .75" spacer. What if you don't install the front .75" spacer when running the stock front bumper. And why the heck does Rancho not offer rear springs? Even as an option? (That last part was for Rancho)
Thanks guys. Very helpful info. I think I'm going to go with it soon. Maybe Rancho will come up with an option by then. Like by the summer.

There was no spacer in the front, but a 2.5" lift spring in the front with .75" spacers in the rear. If I remember correctly from previous posts the rancho rep said they liked their price point on the kit, that's why no springs in the rear. The extra lift in the front is to account for heavy add ons such as a winch or bumper (or both).

For the price with the shocks it was exactly what I was looking for, and you can always add a set of rear springs later when money allows as I am.
