Default skid plates and heat

hey all, i live in colorado, and i like rocks and i like the heat, but my jeep would rather not be dragged and scarred by rocks and would like to run cool in the hot weather.
i'm looking for skid plates but i would like some feedback about how they effect the cooling of the transmission and engine and if some are better than others in the heat.

Thanks a ton!

I don't have any advice on skid plates
I would urgently advise you to get an aftermarket trans cooler though, assuming you have an auto trans they are notorious for running hot and burning up
getting a good trans cooler would let you worry less about your skids holding in heat and help an already to hot trans run much cooler
cheap piece of mind imo

^X2 A B&M tranny cooler off Amazon costed me about $80 and it was super easy to install. It's a great peace of mind after mine overheated on a few trails in the San Juans

We designed our skid plate system with air flow in mind - both at highway and crawling speeds. We have had zero issues nor any feedback from anyone running any of our skids reporting decreased performance.

So you ended up replacing the one that came stock on 2012+ models? Just curious, which B&M part # did you end up going with?

tranny overheating is only on the auto? are these issues only on 35"+ tires, towing or how heavy the jeep? These arent exactly high reving engines... any overheating issues with a manual tranny?

I live here in Colorado and have the Rock Hard trans & engine skids. My transmission runs 165*-167* on the trails all day. The air will flow through the driveline like it always has. On a hard pull like Mount Vernon trans will go to 212* and cool right down after the climb.

i like your product's design, just a quick question about oil drain, it looks like the access port is of good size, any reports of trouble or compatibility with fumoto oil drain valve's?

thanks!

We have not done factory testing with that popular valve, but with that said - we've never gotten feedback saying it does not work.
