Default Effects of heavy 18" Trail Grapplers

Just picked up a set of Trail Grapplers 285/65/18 , i know there heavy . I looked up the weight for both :: 70lbs for tire / 44lbs for RockstarII wheel ... Jeez 114lbs . I have a Teraflex spare tire carrier on the way .... Jeep is rarely offroad , any bad effects besides mpg loss and tailgate issues??... & should i be concerned

Gas mileage will decrease, but you know that already. According to Teraflex, its carrier can handle that type of weight (assuming you have the hinge and the tire mount).

Shouldn't be an issue so long as you keep the alignment in check.

Grab a bathroom scale and pull a wheel and weigh it. You'll have an exact number in under 5 min.

If you think those are heavy, try running a set of 37" BFG Baja T/A's on double beadlock HMMVW wheels... Your suspension will hold up just fine. Only concern should be your tail gate and carrier which will be taken care of with the TF carrier.

I have 37" Trail Grapplers and the Teraflex carrier. Love them both. No issues
