Default jkur 15's to 18's

my setup so far, JKUR ,flat flairs, teraflex leveling kit (pucks), front and rear xrc bumpers and rock rails, rear springs are 59's- front springs are 15's. ive got plenty of room to run the tire size I want (34's to 35's) but have a horrable front sag/rake . I got a set of front18's of a 2015 jeep with like 50 miles on them for next to nothing .. how much if any lift does anyone with any experience with this think ill get?? im going to in stall them no matter what to get rid of the old 15's up front just very curious if this alone will lift the front up .. thanks all.....

I had a willys out the other day while my jeep was in the shop getting its wipers worked on. The willys had 16/56s, mine has 18/59. Mine feels WAY more planted, I cannot comment on the lift as I have the teraflex leveling spacer lift. But compared to my rig, it looked like a 2wd. The ride of the willys was soft and mushy, even with the rubi shocks where as mine is tight and firm but not at all harsh.

that's good to hear about the ride, I wouldn't mind the front up a 1/2'' or so with the 18's installed, but if all I get is a better ride and less nose dive when stopping that's good enough for the little $ spent on the #18 springs.. whats the deal with jeep putting low # springs on rubicon models anyway or any model???

I don't think there is any rhyme or reason. Just grab 2 fronts 2 rears. I know that mine on 59s seems stiffer than a few rubis on 60s because of loads we have put in. Dunno really. Another reason I want to keep my rig instead of trade it in, its working great for us!

I made the same change and do not regret it. I also have teraflex pucks and 18/59. Worth the $$$. Leveled my jeep out perfect.

They install coils based on weight of the jeep and towing specs, the model has nothing to do with the number on the coils. There is a thread on the factory coils #'s if you do a search.

ok, two questions, why would two exact same spec jeeps come with different springs. The rubicon that I know of has the exact same spec as mine, bt mine has stiffer springs up front. but his has stiffer rear springs? Also, is there a different spring for max tow packages? mine seems to have a lot more resistance to sag when loaded than his with the higher number springs.

x2 on that, my buddy's jeep has the same trim package so to speak, but different springs than mine.. and also under more inspection of my jeep I have two different springs up front, I have a #15 on the drivers side #16 passenger side, they cant even get the same #'s together crazy. I do hope the #18's make the front end feel better its great to here that others have had good outcomes...

I gained about a half inch measuring ground to bottom of the top factory fender going from my 17's to 18's. My '13 JKU Sport had only about 5,000 miles on it when I did the swap. The 18's came out of a '13 JKUR with about 8,000 miles on the clock. I already had 59's in the back from the factory.

I did end up adding a 1" spacer to the front and a .75" spacer to the rear and I'm pretty happy with the stance. There was a noticeably stiffer ride, but not harsh. Just my .

huh,, about a 1/2'' going up one # of spring. can't wait to see what going from #15 to #18 does.. I don't mind a stiffer ride its a jeep!!
