Default 17x8 3.5"BS for my 37s and no more spacers... Good idea?

Hi,

I'm running 37x12.5x17 on a 17x9 4.75" BS
with a 2.5" budget boost, 1" body spacers, 1.5" spacers each wheel, trimmed pinch seam and trimmed stock front bumper. I also limited the steering a bit (couple of washers).
The only thing I can not trim is the frame behind my front tires (Obviously ).
My problem: at max steering, my tires still rub the frame. I can not lift my JK more because my garage wouldn't support it.
And:
I WANT TO GET RID OF MY SPACERS.. I'm doing my own tire rotations since no shop would touch my Jeep (company policies, blabla). I just want a wheel which eliminates the spacers. (I also learned that the stud material on the spacers is a lot weaker/ softer, so the thread is gone after 3-4 rotations and I need to replace the studs...)

I need your help to decide if my solution works or if you guys think otherwise. TELL ME THE TRUTH!

I found the racelinewheels.com website where I can custom order: 17x8 wheels with 3.5" BS.... I can not find this rims anywhere else (I would have liked 3.25"BS, but they do not offer it). The wheels start at 299 a piece.

Would you choose the wheels over the spacers? Why is there no stock rim with these dimensions out there? What could be the disadvantage of a 3.5"BS on my Jeep? (No real off roading..)

I hope you can give me some insight and help...

Thanks guys,
Alex

only disadvantage is paying $300 a wheel for something you don't really need if youre not really wheeling. The spacers are perfectly safe, and I know shops now will rotate your tires as long as they are wheel ADAPTERS, meaning they have their own studs unlike sandwich spacers. What brand spacers are you running? There shouldn't be any issues with the stud material wearing down quickly.

I go through Discount/America's tire and they have no problem with the adapters.

Current: 4.75" - 1.50" = 3.25" effective backspace.

New rims = 3.5" backspace.

I also limited the steering a bit (couple of washers).

My problem: at max steering, my tires still rub the frame.
So I am confused as to how you think you are going to fix the rubbing issue by moving the tires back in 1/4"? To me, that means more rubbing, not less. Or more washers than you currently have, and a worse turning radius?

Which spacers are you currently running? Have you verified that they use grade 8? (Guessing those studs are grade 5?)

Discount Tire has reversed their policy on spacers. If you have one close, they might be an option if you choose to go with a different brand of spacer.

I agree to your math a 100%. I am loosing 0.25" back space, which stinks. However, I expect that my new wheel being 8" wide not 9" (as my current) could give me the same situation I have currently. (I don't know how much the width of the overall tire will change by running a more narrow rim)
My current rubbing is only at full steering going through a pot hole, so it 's "OK".

I have spider trax adapters.

I agree on the adapter versus spacer issue. I always tell them that I have spacers. I should clarify that I have actual adapters.

Still, after 2 rotations, half my studs are worn out. So I decided to do it carefully at home. Not that easy with heavy 37s.... I would just like to get rid of the spacers and get some new wheels
