Default Pics of aftermarket rear bumper mounting?

So I made 3/16 steel plate bunper for the rear. Problem is I really didn't plan out physically mounting it in the process.

Can anyone take some pics for me of how their aftermarket bumpers are mounted? Need some inspiration.

This is my bumper, is an old unfinished pic it's all I have on my phone. (It has clevis mounts now)

All you need is 4 thick pieces of 3/8"x3" (roughly) running straight rearward that will go on the sides of your frame (left and right) and then just bolt through the stock hole locations.

While that would work im not looking to add 20 lbs to the bumper. I was thinking of s 3/16 plate box around te frame rail.

20lbs to a 5000lb vehicle doesn't seem that bad...

Do the same thing and use 3/16 then. I wouldn't count on it to take a pounding and not bend though. I've seen many rear bumpers and most of them do the same thing. Not really worth skimping now and having to repair later IMO.

if you want to keep it light, use two 3/16's plate on the outside of the frame rails, and than 2 tabs that attach to the back (forward facing) of the cross member.

Mt PSC bumper attaches with 2 side plates to the frame with 3 bolts per side, and then two bolts from the bottom of the bumper through the crossmember. As they describe it, 8 bolts on 3 different planes.

Good looking bumper!!

I used 3" channel. And a 1/4" plate. I welder the 1/4" plate to the inside of the bumper which is 3/16" plate. Then welded the channel to that. Punched holes to match the frame.
I also welded my Shackle mounts on the outside of that. I'll get some picts here shortly.

Maybe il look into the price of a few feet of a small piece of 1/4" plate to use. Probably more than I want to spend though, I already have 3/16"

I was thinking of making a 3 sided open box that would slip over the frame rails.

Cutting and drilling 3/8" is a hassle for me, over 1/4" starts to exceed my home garage capabikities. (No plasma cutter)

I image 3 or 4 grade 8 bolts on either side would suffice.

Once it's done I think I'm going to spray the entire thing in raptor liner. I did it to my rugged ridge XHD it's held up well.

I was considering welding the backside of two bolts to a plate and inserting them through.

Ok I finally dug the bumper out of storage.

Here is where I stand so far, and my current conundrum is where to put bolts through.

The two plates I cut are 3/8" steel, not sure if I went a little overboard there. The total weight of this thing is probably 80 lbs by now.

This has been a much longer and drawn out undertaking than I anticipated. Granted when I first started it, my only cutting tool was an angle grinder.
