Drag link flip, how much backspacing on rims? Stock rims and spacers?
I run stock rims and tires on my 2008 JKU and have a 3.5 in terreflex lift, i want to flip the drag link (and put on lower track bar relocation brackets front and back) but know my stock rims wont clear them.
As an interim step before i got to new rims and 35's would it be possible to use wheel spacers to reduce the backspacing on the factory 17" rims enough to clear a drag link flip? I have the Currie drag link and tie rod set up if that matters.
Thanks as always in advace
Dave

From the notes for the Synergy flip on their website...
Assuming the stock rims are roughly 6.25" backspace, minus a 1.50" spacer, = 4.75"
I ran the synergy flip with 16x8.5 rims with 4.50 backspace, and had the rim contact the boot on a joint - didn't hit the joint, just wore into the boot. This was several years ago, and they seem to have switched to a new design on the boots that isn't as wide. With a 17" rim and spacers, you should not have this problem (?)
High Steer setup requires 16" or larger wheel diameter with a maximum 4-3/4" backspacing or wheel spacer with factory wheel setup. 4-1/2" back spacing is recommended.
