Default Lift and tires

Hey guys,

New to the forum and new Jeep owner. I have a stock 2014 rubicon unlimited. I've been told the stock rubicons can fit 33 inch tires with rubbing only during rough offroading. I plan on getting the 1.25" Rough Country body lift and the Goodyear Duratrac LT295/65R18. Will I have any issues with rubbing? Also, will I need to run spaces for these tires?

Thanks,
Kevin

You're about to get bashed for not searching, but I'll bite because I'm bored lol!

It's the tire width that will get you, not height so much. About as big as you can go stock is 275/70. I only know because I'm running that size. I still had to put a couple washers on the steering stops, but it works great. I have a 2" lift, fyi

Steer clear of the duratracs if you can. Look at cooper st maxx which has a stronger side wall and is cheaper. Almost identical tread pattern

Rough country is also ball sack. Look at a teraflex budget boost, or maybe the rancho 2" like I have.

A 33x10.50 seems to be the general answer from the daily 'what is the largest tire without lift or wheel spacers' posts. Actual tire sizes, and specific vehicle specs, can differ quite a bit, so there is no one size fits all answer. If it rubs, be prepared to add washers or trim.

R18? Do you have aftermarket wheels? If so, with the proper back spacing you won't have to run spacers.

I plan on buying a set of KMC XD Misfits which according to specs online have 5" backspacing for the 18x9 size.
