Two four wheeling trips through the woods in Minnesota have resulted in two flats on my Goodyear MT/r tires. I am sick of it, any ideas for the strongest and most flat resistant tire out there? I have 37/12.50 17s. By the way, I have had Goodyear car tires that I have disliked also due to the short life and poor traction. No more goodyear for me.

 

I'm happy so far with my Toyo M/T's. I haven't had them for too long yet but so far my favorite tire I have ran. I haven't even had to balance them. You can't go wrong with Nitto either.

 

So far I've run first Gen mtrs. Awesome tire, short life. 20K miles. I've run bfg km2. Good manners decent offroad. Absolute worst tires in snow and ice. Toyo mt is a great tire. I do construction and when I got rid of them they had 68k on them (was on my 1/2 truck) and still had about 10-15k left in them. The reason I got rid of them was due to having about 20 nails and staples in 2 tires. After I got new tires I pull staples and nails. No leaks lol. Currently running nitto trail grapplers. Awesome tire. Wet traction on paint stripes suck and they are heavy. Offroad have never let me down. My brother is running falken wildpeaks and they are an awesome tire as well

 

Cooper st maxx are available in 37x12.5. I run them in 285/70/17 and 8,000 miles no issues on or off road.

Nitto Trail Graps...

 

I've have cooper at max on my 2006 f150. I was not impressed with the wear. They started to cup pretty bad after 5k and have wore down more than I expected for only 20k on them. They looked great....but on road fell short for durable.

 

Second the Toyo MT 37's. Have 25k miles on them tuff as nails I don't even carry a spare anymore, just a plug kit and on board compressor

 

Being I live and wheel in Montana I have either sharp rocks or sharp sticks (downed trees) to contend with. Toyos are what me and many of my buddies use. Some claim they are rough riding but I do not find that to be the case on my E rated 35's and knock on wood no flats. Nitto is made on the same carcass as the Toyos so would be tough too.

 

I stayed away from Goodyear tires after hearing nothing but problems. Ended up going with Firestone Destination MT/R tires. They were $280/ea from Tire Rack and worth every penny. The grip they have when aired down on rocks is awesome. We run them at Rausch Creek on more of the rocky trails, but they are good at getting through thick mud as well. I would definitely recommend them.

 

I read somewhere that Goodyear makes the Firestone tires. The Duratracs and Firestone MT are supposed to be based on the same carcass.
