Bestop QD bow knuckles with spring assist top

Bestop QD bow knuckles with spring assist top
Has anyone made this work (pics?)
I ordered these with a ton of other stuff from Offroad Elements cause it clearly says on the package, nearly every website including Bestop's that it fits 97-14 JKUs. Mine has spring assist, hence the issue
I just called Bestop and the rep said there are other places to add the knuckles other than the spring box. But doesn't that leave tubes on it dangling or in strange positions?
Has anyone done this? or are y'all just pulling the small forward facing bolts and popping it off (leaving the bracket bolted to rollbar)?
I am not excited with doing "something" to that "complex" top now that I have looked at it and studied it.
