Default Custom tube doors

I'm making my own trail doors. just wondering what type of latch I should use to still use the factory striker so it's easy to switch back to full doors? I see universal "bear jaw"style latches but it appears those are meant for single post strikers. Will it work on the U shaped JK striker?

I have never made tube doors myself but, I have seen people use the bestop door latches. The ones that come on their soft door. I am sure you can buy just the latches somewhere.

You have to post links while you are building these. I want to see what you come up with.

I built a set of custom half doors and used a bear claw style. Works great. I did weld some tubing inside the claw to fit the smaller JK striker better. The open incredibly smooth.

Glad to hear that! I'm leaning towards some bear claw style from AutoLoc. They have two styles- a large and small claw. I think I'll try the small claw. And modify if needed!

Here's what I've got so far... I think I'll keep just half the door skinned. Be easy on me i really haven't done much for fabricating before haha

Very nice. I have been thinking about making some after I make a rear bumper.

Did the small latch work?
