Default What causes ABS to go bad?

What might be causing my right rear ABS sensor to go bad? About a month ago came off the trail, hooked sway bar back up and hit the road. When I got to about 35mph? My ABS and traction control lights came on, no cruise control, etc. discover it was passenger side ABS sensor. I replaced and all was good.

I came off trail today and same thing happen. No issues, lights until I hooked sway bars back up and got back on the road.

The first time this happened I checked the passenger side rear wires up to frame and all looked good, cleaned the tone ring, checked tire pressures, cleaned dirt off sensor, etc. What causes an ABS sensor to go bad, other than breaking it?

sounds like maybe they are getting hit while you're wheeling?? did you notice any damage to the one you replaced?

Andy, I could not find any damage! Kind of wondering if it is shorting out when flexing very little? Wires not stretch out because rear shocks where to short to allow down travel.

that's really odd. I would probably take the wires out of the loom and do a very close inspection of each one. There could be a small spot of damage where they could be shorting together.
