Default rim size and tire recommendations?

I have a 2014 4dr JK and I'm having factory MOPAR 3" suspinsion lift in stalled. What size rims do you recommend? I'm going with 35" tires. Also any recommendations on good tires would be appreciated. I'm not going to be rock crawling just trail rides and mostly street driving. Thanks

15" wheels will net you the cheapest prices on tires as long as you go with a set that is known to clear jk brakes. 16" should fit fine, but tire options will be a little more limited. I say, if you have the coin, go with a 17" wheel. Looks good, clears brake and tie rod upgrades, and is not very limited in options.

For the type of driving that you said you were going to do. I would recommend Goodyear Duratracs, they are
a great tire on road and off. Onroad they are quiet and handle great in rain and snow. Offroad they are good in
mud, sand, and trails. They are supposed to be pretty good rock crawlers to (don't know I don't get to do to
much rock crawling where I'm at). I have 317's./17 on 17 x 8.5 aluminum rims, got them at Discount tire, if
I remember right they were around $2,100.00 dollars for all 5. I love um, have 10,000 to 15,000 on them and
they only are about 1/4 worn. One thing to think about, with 35's. you are going to need gears and upgraded
brake pads minimum. I hope this helped, good luck with what ever you do.
Keep on jeepin.

Nitto Terra Grapplers are what I run on two JKs and my Ram. I absolutely love them. A friend of mine has 60k miles on a set and are still decent tread. 315/70/17 would be perfect.

Thanks for all the input guys! I'm now torn between just going with a 2" & 33"'s now. I'm not sure if I want to go through changing the gears and breaks now, the $$ will be getting thin! But what type gears and brakes do I need, if I stay with the 3" & 35"'s?

Whether you need a regear is subjective. If your jeep came with the max tow option, you have 3.73 gearing, and on a 2012+ 35s tend to be more tolerable than previous years. My buddies dad has 35s on his 2013 with 3.73 gearing and it still gets up and goes decently. If you're running 3.21 gears (all models that are not rubicon and did not coming with max tow), you'll likely want to regear. Most seem to go with 4.56 at that tire size with no plans for 37s if I'm not mistaking. I can't comment on the brakes part as I haven't explored the world of braking yet. Lol. The need to regear for 35s (3.21 here) is what convinced me to go with a 33x12.5 instead. It is a rather costly venture.
