Aluminum bumpers
I Know GenRight makes them, but I'm not crazy about their tire carrier. PSC don't make aluminum bumpers, so I'm looking for a rear bumper with tire carrier with the same type of design as PSC. If PSC would make aluminum bumpers, I wouldn't be posting this thread. I just traded my 2011 2 door sport for a 2015 4 door Rubi and starting my build.
I'll surely check on that. I been searching and ain't finding much to choose from. Thanks for the info....
Genrights carrier is body mounted.
You are going to have a very hard time finding an aluminum bumper with integrated carrier. By the time you run thick enough aluminum, it will weigh as much as a steel bumper. Aluminum doesn't bend for crap, unless you use really soft stuff, which means lots of welding. The downside there is another unique property of aluminum. The weld is weaker than the base material, whereas with steel the weld is stronger. I personally would not ever run an aluminum bumper with an integrated swing-out carrier.
Why the focus on aluminum? I'm sure it isn't weight as there are bumpers using HST that weight very little. Rust concern?

You'll have to run something like a Genright bumper and then either their carrier or something like the Teraflex or Crawler Concepts. Regardless, it is not some major weight savings. Check out the LoD Gen 4 bumper and carrier. They use high tensile strength steel. It is lighter and stronger. The entire bumper and carrier weighs around 110 lbs and is nearly bullet proof. You might be able to save 30 lbs more with some combo of aluminum, but there are far easier ways to save weight.
Plus, you are starting with an extra 100 hp. With the correct gears, it won't be slow. My 2013 had 37s on beadlocks and I was fully armored. With 4.88s, it was like driving a go-cart around town.

My Genright aluminum carrier and bumper come in at 40 lbs total....
