Calling high altitude jeepers!
So I live in Colorado and I've just about had it with my sluggish 2010 JKUR on 35 toyos. Time to re-gear but I want to check with others on their opinion/experience with 4.88s or 5.13 in high altitude areas. I don't plan on moving up to 37s until my next JK.
Next question, any good shops in the Colorado area and what's a fair price for master over hall kit/install. I know we just got a new northridge 4x4 shop in Denver and they had a gear special at one point.

Trail Jeeps in Golden. They have a guy who specializes in gears and is exceptional at what he does. Great pricing too. I just did 4.88's and it was $1070 out the door. It feels like a new Jeep and that's on 35" Nittos.
The guys up there are seriously awesome. I won't take mine anywhere else since finding them.

You're in the Springs? Try Crazy Ed's, east side of town in the Powers/Platte area. Doubt he'll be able to touch the $1000 specials you'll find further north, but I've had good luck with his gear/locker installs.
Lots of opinions on the 'best' ratio. I have a 3.8 4door auto. Went to 5.13's with 33's. Then 35's. Then 5.38's with the 35's, and eventually to 37's. 5.13's were good, but I like the 5.38's better for both 35's and 37's.
You'll want a tuner if you don't already have one, so start looking at Superchips/Diablo/whoever. And just a heads up, even with 5.38's you will feel a lack of power on the hills and might start thinking forced induction.

Northridge is in Longmont. HIgh Country in Englewood is good also as well as the others mentioned. I went to Trail Jeeps the other day first time, and they do some extensive work including LS swaps. I didn't know anyone here in Colorado was doing that.

Looks like 5.38s would be the best based on the feedback. I have a flashpaq as well.

A lot have suggested 5.38 but I have read a lot about how the pinion is weaker....

Go with 5.38s
I was running 5.13s (3.8 & auto) with 35s last year when I drove across the Rockies to spend 2 weeks in MOAB and hated every minute while driving through Colorado. It was sluggish in MOAB as well.
I am making the same trip again in 4 weeks but with 37s and I am not looking forward to the drive across Colorado.
I live near sea level and the 5.13s work well but I wish I went with 5.38s. Don't fear the gear!!!
