Default Tailgate spare tire bump stops mod

I had an issue with my Spare shaking pretty badly once I installed my spare tire relocator that I fabbed up. I thought had anticipated on everything but, I was wrong. So I am going to show my resolution and maybe others will want to use the idea. I started with the stock bumpers and a section of PVC pipe inserted into them. They weren't staying in place due to the rubber being so soft and flexed really easy on a bump. Next I ordered a set of the Daystar bumpers and they too were to short and to my disappointment they tear really easily due to the foam material. So I wetted the split area and glued it with Gorilla glue.

Then I got the idea to cut them in half and cut the ends to fit inside 1.5" PVC. Before I inserted them in the pipe I wetted the cut side and put glue on the PVC. I let them cure and tested them on the tail gate and Viola' they worked great. So I pulled them out and gave them a shot of Truck bed liner and currently waiting for them to dry.

Interesting......got pics? debating on whether just plugging stock isolator holes with ACE bumper or trying to rig something up. Here's a virtual beer dedicated to you for the idea though.......
