Default do you really need heavy duty crossmember under skids??????

Hey all

I just ordered Rock Hard full skids from Quadratic, do you need to install a heavy duty trans. cross member, or is the factory one good enough. I'm not really going to bet the crap
Out of it, just want good protection. Don't want to crush the factory one, if that's the case I will get the HD one. Just don't want to fork out the extra bucks if I don't need to. Thanks
For any help.

I flat out destroyed mine. But I have a 4 door so my belly drags more than a 2 door would.

Yeah, I smash mine, just unbolted 3 bolts, straighted it out with a jack and 2 2x4's, then put it back on. It was rattling my mufflers the only reason I did that. I'll replace it when it tears off in time

OOOPs! that was the explanation of my skid. Cross member is smashed up a bit, but no vibrations as of yet

I have a poison spider cross member and it is pretty stout and affordable and easy to install, not sure if fully armored I would need it but I too have 4 door and belly drags a bit.

Default Yeah the stock one gets beat up

Moab did a number on mine even with skids and the exhaust is rattling. Will replace it this Fall with an Orfab or Evo (or something else) in anticipation of more scraping.
