Default Control arm input from those actually crawling with them. DONE with RK junk...

After going through front and rear CA bushings, front trackbar bushings and heim joint all at low mileage and a recent bout of shitty customer service from rock krawler (after I've sold/installed/endorsed many of their kits for them); I'm once again looking at replacing the rears and I'm DONE. Ignore your customers RK; they'll go away.

Anyway, exploring what's out there for CA alternatives and even though the bars appear unimpressive, I really like the Metalcloak bushing design. However, I can't imagine them holding up for a long time so I'm looking for input from those that have them and have put some good rock crawling abuse on them for some feedback on durability. Good or bad is appreciated.

Same request from anyone with other arm brands that has legitimately put them to the test and is impressed with durability.

Please, save the "pro rock krawler posts" as they do me no good and will just take up space.

Many thanks in advance.

I have noticed that Rock Krawler is always great when someone is giving them kudos but they have very selective hearing when you are not satisfied.

I like my RK triple rate springs but after having their front track bar I would never go with their control arms. I have been happy with my TeraFlex lca's but I don't have a lot of miles on them so will have to see how they hold up. Good luck with your search.

Thanks jadmt, yes, exactly. I even contacted them personally about their issues and got the silent treatment.

I have never tried teraflex arms/joints, so not a recommendation, but ...

Waaayyyy back when, they were doing a promo on their arms (half price, 100 off, don't actually recall what it was) if you cut your current adjustable arms in half and send them in. Could be worth looking into.

Nevermind, it was adj trackbars, not arms

Search Dirtman and control arms, he's run a bunch of them and tested them side by side. Searching on the phone sucks or I would have done it for you.

I have metalcloak arms, although only for the past couple months. my last set was teraflex - teraflex arms are way beefier, they probably weigh 3 times as much...but i hate their joints.

I have a spare metalcloak joint if you ever want to look at it out of the housing - i'm in Lakewood. I'm not a fan of the whole johnny joint or the knock offs - too many parts, too much greasing, and they never last long enough.

If it wasn't metalcloak i'd look into the synergys, which are the same thing. I bought mine for the durability - on road my ride is way better and off road they flex with less bind - hard to explain in person but its really because the joint housing is so much smaller and doesn't bind up in the control arm mounts.

I have thought about cutting them in half. But it ain't Teraflex I'd be sending them to......

Thanks Rebar. So I considered the Curries and may still but I've been on the fence about the JJs. How much wheeling/miles do you have on yours? Thanks!

Thanks Karl, I'll check it out

I like the Synergys if for nothing else but the adjust on frame aspect even though once t hey're set, you're pretty much done. But they are JJs too so relatively same as Currie from what I understand. Thanks for the offer, if I drill down and get good feedback and more serious about the MC arms, I may take you up on it.

They have a new joint called a dual durometer bushing or something, ddb? Very new, otherwise yea their old was just a JJ original or variant of it.
