Default ...so my windshield is a rock magnet.....

...to the point that I'm going to have to replace it. I'm assuming that it's the near 90 deg. angle of the windshield to the body, but it seems like every rock (not going to go into all the bugs committing suicide) is just waiting to hit my windshield (street driving...not even off-road!!).

I've seen hood cowling / scoops that appear to attach to the hood, but haven't seen any definitive results of purchasing / attaching these things and whether they work or not.

...or, is this just something that's assumed to be standard wear-and-tear...???

I generally go through 1 windshield a year. I need to replace mine now but I'm waiting for it to to get worse before I do.

Yup I've only had my jeep a year and have also had to replace the windshield. I chalk it up as a something that is expected.

Yep. I'm in the Phoenix area and I am on my third in ten months (original + two replacements). Freeways are bad here because they use gravel as landscaping that makes its way into the lanes and gets kicked up. Plus they really don't enforce securing your loads so dump trucks and cement trucks are the enemy of the Wrangler windshields.

I wonder if you get less rock hits the more you lift your jeep?

Are any of the hood mounted bug deflectors of any use at all? I've never been a fan of them because I've never owned one that worked worth a flip for anything other than preventing stone chips to the leading edge of the hood.
