Default Smittybuilt XRC Winch HELP

Hey guys, just need a little help with my winch. I just bought my 07' JKU a few weeks ago and I did try the winch out or the remote control until I got home. There is power in the winch and it works but one of the prongs that connects the remote to the winch has rusted off. I wanted to know if anyone has seen this before and or knows the name/ number of a replacement part. I am really hoping that there's a part and that I don't have a useless winch. Thanks in advance for any help.

It seems that they make parts... Smittybilt Winch Replacement Parts 97280-28A - Free Shipping on Orders Over $99 at Summit Racing

I'd give them a call and ask about it. I don't think you're SOL yet.

If everything is working, why the concern with some rust in the pin ? just a question, not trying to minimize on the issue.
Have you try to clean that out with maf cleaner and a little brush ?

you can just pull the top and get a new piece of wire with a new pin.

just google electrical pins and sockets etc

What I meant by "working" was when I try to plug the control in, there's a short power surging sound but the power does not stay on. One of the prongs completely rusted out and in result the control does not fit properly.

I don't have experience with electrical stuff so I am a little lost haha. I was just hoping I could unscrew that little pronged part and replace it with a new one so that the control fits in.

Thanks for all the input guys, really appreciate it.

It looks more like the pin is burned instead of rusted. First thing I'd check is whether there is a short in the circuit that is pulling too much power. Do you have access to a wiring diagram? That would show what that pin is connected to and what it does. No matter what you find though that connector will need to be replaced. Check the mating connector to see if it isn't burned also.

Google 5 pin connectors and you will find many like yours. You should be able to get one for about $10. Get both the chassis mount male (shown in your picture) and the cable mount female (on the end of your controller cable).

EDIT: I stand corrected. I found the Neutrik (a good brand) NC5MD (male panel mount) for $17.19. The matching cable connector is NC5FXX for $19.49. They also have a cable connector with a 90-degree bend if that is any help to you for $25.
