Just had a synergy tie rod and ball joints installed took it for a drive and the jeep is all over the road/ lofty steering is sloppy feels like it has play in it? Is this bad alignment specs or is the Tie rod adjusted improperly? Don't think the ball joints would do that. I know the parts need to brake in for a few hundred miles but should this be happening?
I'm lifted with RK 3.5" X factor lift also? Before I dropped it off for parts install jeep steering felt solid and didn't wonder at all?

First step is to check and make sure all the nuts are torqued. Sounds almost like a loose drag link. Have some turn the steering wheel and see if anything looks loose.

Generally, the new ball joints make it really tight. Not the opposite. Sounds like install error somewhere in there.

No, it shouldn't feel like that. I would crawl under there and see if they left anything loose. Do the rod ends all feel tight? New Synergy end studs are very difficult to move in the socket. While after use a rod may be able to rotate up and down, there should be no play at the ends (ball has no play in socket). And new they're so tight they can be difficult to rotate. Also, check all jam nuts. They come loose very easily. Synergy's instruction sheet says to "man up" when tightening them.

Edit: You might also check your toe in and steering wheel centering. Did they do an alignment? They should have.

Yes they did an alignment after I'm waiting for the alignment spec sheet to be e mailed to me. I'll go check and see if everything is tight also. Thanks for the replies

When tightning down ball joints i have seen them be at torque and yet not be fully seated. U drive away thinking all is well and a few miles later the bouncing down the highway seats the joint stud and now the jeep is loose and all over the road. Go back and double and triple check the ball joint nuts. A little inspection is never ever a bad plan. Let us know what u find out is the problem cause.

I'll have to double check everything this week sometime. I'm so busy at work I don't have time to check it for another few days.

Well, you need to make time. If something in the steering is loose and works its way apart, it's a bad ending. It will take 10 minutes to check everything.

How much you want a bet they set the caster at 6 degrees? I've been dealing with my new control arms and it was pretty flighty at 6. Have it a 3.5, but still dealing with a slight pull to the right.

These rigs are so fun to work on

If they followed Rk Front CA specs caster is prob low.

I had to bring my lowers out 1/4 and uppers in 1/8 to get 4° caster.
