daystar hood cowl
I have one of the first ones, and it heat warped really bad. When I went to the all breeds Jeep show, I talked to the guy from Daystar. He came out, and looked at it. He said the first ones got out of the factory without reinforcing ribs on the underside
. This one has two BIG spots were it sinks in, and they hold water. I haven't decided if I want to paint or wrap the new one they sent me free. I might just buck up, and buy a real hood. I do really like the way it looks on the JK though. I wish they would have helped with the repainting since it was their mistake. I don't even know if the new one will warp or not. Plus when it rains, dirt & dust come out from under it on the front of the hood. If your Jeep is Mall rated, and you like it spotless - this could be an issue.

I have a newer cowl and the warping issue is still a problem, pile of crap.
Depending on outside and engine tempatures this thing warps and twists like crazy.
Recently bought a poison Spyder and although it isn't aggressive looking (flat) it is a way better product and reduces engine temp much better.

Does the Poison Spyder Hood vents cover the hole I cut for the daystar hood cowl? If I have to buy a hood, I might as well buy one that already has vents. It is a shame, because I really like the look of the cowl.
Here is the template for cutting, I'm not familiar with the daystar cut pattern but you can check it out
