Warranty Nightmare
I have a 2013 JKU Sport that has been plagued by hardtop leaks since almost day one. It started in the front between the two freedom panels (dripping onto the radio) and now has ventured to both front doors in the back of the freedom panels(soaking the carpets). I had it fixed multiple times when it was still under warranty and after it hit the 36,000 mile warranty cut off a claim was made with Jeep and the dealership continued to work on it as a "Reoccurring Problem". They have tweaked things, replaced multiple seals(some twice) and now supposedly there is nothing else to fix. Right now I am waiting for the "Expert" to schedule a time to come and look at it(I guess there are only twenty something of these people in the country) and tell us if there is anything else to do. I am pretty sure it has been too long for any kind of lemon law claim and the warranty person at Jeep(ironically named Cherokee) says that if the expert has no other fix then they can't really do anything else. One option she did give me was 5% off a new Vehicle(Jeep, Dodge, Chrysler, Ram).
So now for three years I have been working with them to resolve this issue which is in no way my fault. Pretty much, I can take their ridiculously low offer and nearly restart my payments and trade in my jeep which isn't going to be worth what it should because it is now a "Leaky Jeep" and pay taxes for the new one. Or I'm stuck with a leaking, wet dog smelling Jeep. Unless they can sweeten the deal I might have to go with the latter as I am getting married this year and all my money is being used for that.
I love my jeep and i don't want any other vehicle. If it came with a disclaimer that said "may leak, it is a Jeep" then i wouldn't be worried, but it doesn't and they are not cheap vehicles. I cant control when it rains in relation to my warranty expiring. I have seen guys handle their freedom panels like they are indestructible, no leaks for them and then I put my top back on like I am disarming a nuclear bomb and leaks galore. How does that work?
Has anyone else been through a similar situation? Have any HELPFUL advice? Please and thanks in advance!

I would demand a brand new top and seals that go on the jeep. This is a fully doc problem and in California they jeep buys them back for this. I live in Wisconsin have a 2014 unlimited and have had it in for 1 new seal with no further problems. I think a new top would help a lot. Jeep can afford to give you that for your problems. They should at least try it. Good luck!!

Make them give you a brand new hard top, if it still leaks then make them give you a soft top. Either way it should all be free. After years of issues I'm surprised they haven't offered the new top. I've found that the quickest way to get any companies attention is a BBB complaint. Threaten making one. If that doesn't get them replacing the top for no cost then make the complaint. Most likely you'll get a call from corporate the next day. Those complaints are searchable online and no company wants them
I have a 2015 sahara 2 door and mine leaked from first rain day it seen and car washes. I go in for the first oil change this time home and I'm gonna bring up the leak. So far its just over the passenger side would hit a passenger square on the right shoulder.
I had the same water leaking issues with my 2012 JKU, my brothers JKU built 2 weeks after mine doesn't leak a drop! I hired a Lemon Law attorney and had my issue "remedied" within 90 days. Keep your floor plugs pulled to help keep things dry until it's resolved!
