Default Death Wobble/ Track Bar

Goodmorning,

Over the weekend we took a wheeling trip down to Uhwarrie. We had just about arrived on Friday when we hit a bump in the road at about 45-50 and installing got the worst death wobble I've ever experienced. After assessing the damage my steering stabilizer was completely blown out. The next morning on our way to the meet up spot in the morning it happened again once and then we ended up wheeling on it all day, at the end of the day it was happening again bad. Called all the local shops and nobody has a SS in stock so Sunday morning we headed back home going about 35. We ended up finding one and riding it out but after cleaning the jeep underneath and assessing my track bar seems to have a lot of wear at the bushing and also looks pretty bent so I plan on ordering one. I wanted to see what everyone recommended as far as track bars go? I've heard negative things on the rough country one. Was looking towards the RK bomb proof. Suggestions?

My set up is 2012 JK
2014 JKUR springs and shocks
Brand new Rancho Steering stabilizer.. Lol
32.5 AT's on 17x9 Moto Metal rims.

Figured I may as well go ahead and order a lift that includes a track bar and I could use the death wobble as an incentive to convince myself. Lol

Thanks for any help guys.

I was experiencing wobbles around the same speeds.

Found a lower driver ball joint, bad u joint, and bad tie rod end we're all contributing factors.

When I would hit just the right sequence of bumps in between 40-50 it was on. Synergy ball joints, synergy drag link and tie rod, solid as a rock.

Chances are your front track bar is worn. Simple
Check is grab your bumper on Passenger side and move the jeep driver to passenger while lolling at the lower mount. The do the same on drivers side to see if there is any movement. Also check the torque on all your suspension components.

I had the about a week ago and it was my track bar at the axle. Just this past weekend I swapped my front axle and the lower joints were shot so that probably had something to do with it.

The steering stabilizer will help dampen bump steer and how the steering wheel reacts to potholes and bumps. I have been running without a steering stabilizer since December.

Default Update

So I was all getting a loud pop noise when turning and the death wobble/normal driving wobble was pretty rough. I tracked the noise down to the axle side track bar mount. I did the track bar bolt swap with 9/16" Grade 8 bolts and the noise and most of the wobble is gone. I get a small steering wheel stutter around 35-40mph. Will be changing out all of the suspension bolts and see how it goes!
