Default Teraflex Big Brakes Customer Service

I recently purchased the Teraflex slotted big brakes front and rear. I also included the master cylinder upgrade. I did the install myself. Including the bleeding, the job took me most of a full day.

Unfortunately, right out of the gate I noticed a pulsing of the brake pedal, as I was doing the break in procedure. Afterwards, I noticed a wobble with the steering wheel with higher speed breaking.

A quick trip to the internets, revealed a warped front rotor as the likely culprit. I emailed Teraflex, about the problem and ordered new front rotors and pads at the same time.

I just finished installing the new front rotors and pads and all is good. I can't comment on performance yet, as I want to do a very slow and proper break in. However, the pulsing and wobbling is gone.

Mark at Teraflex emailed me back and promised to reimburse me for the the replacements. I have no complaints for such excellent customer service.

I bet on Teraflex seven years ago and have never regretted the decision. Great customer service.

Glad to hear. Too often we only hear of the bad experiences with vendors. I have a few teraflex items and have been nothing but happy with all of them thus far.

This is good to hear. I'm currently looking at their rear big-rotor kit, and I'll be the first to admit I'm a novice at brake systems. (I get all the theory and terminology, but no real-world experience with install or maintenance.) The Teraflex kits are so much more inexpensive than their competitors, it's difficult not to make them the default position, but it also makes you question the comparative quality. It's very reassuring -- though not surprising -- to hear Teraflex took care of you. Their customer service does have an excellent reputation.

One thing that concerns me is that while the front big brake and big rotor kits are easy to find, it seems not every vendor carries the rear kit. Not sure why that is, as the product looks to have been out a year or so.

As these vendors have pointed out themselves, the front brakes provide the majority of the stopping power. For a rotor-only upgrade, both front and rear may be wanted (dynatrac, and now teraflex). But for a front big brake upgrade with dual piston calipers and larger booster, reviews seem to indicate that front-only is more than sufficient. (teraflex, and now mopar)

They do sell a similar (rotor only) kit for the front and back. Same stock calipers with a larger rotor for more surface area to cool off faster.

Advantage being cost and not having to fool with the brake lines, thus having to bleed the system.
