Can anyone confirm if the 2015+ model years jk and jk come from the factory lacking this heat sound deadening goop pasted on the floorboards?

And if they did in fact remove this material, did they add insulation beyond it possibly on the underside?

And in any case, has anyone successfully constructed or attempted to affix heat shielding or wrap to the underside of the tub or on the exhaust/transmission driveline?

Whose going to tear down there jk jeep and spray the under tub with lizard skin coatings?

 

i did not know they came with sound barrier installed. thought the carpets and such were made so they could be easily removed and run without.

 

My '14 had it. But it was removed for the Line-x. Not sure on the '15.

 

My 15 didn't have it. Pulled the carpet and painted metal was underneath.

 

My 13 had the goop. My 16 has a pad that was stuck on and painted over. I prefer the new style. It won't look too bad to bedline over, unlike the goop.
