Default Axle Seal leaking on a Dana 30

2014 jku 36.5k miles, looks like a axle seal is leaking, oil on lower knuckle with slow drip. Is this covered under a powertrain warranty? I just went over regular warranty so was hoping stealership would cover. Will they give me hardtime for 3 inch lift and 35s? Thanks in advance.

Mine did the same thing at about the same mileage. I changed the fluid and it quit. Not sure what happened but it was way over full when I pulled the fill plug.

You're covered under the powertrain warranty. My rig had over 60k miles and it's modded like crazy and they still covered me.
Just build a relationship with threw dealership and you should be fine.
FYI, make sure you put the stock tune if you have one installed otherwise you'll lose your tune and maybe void your warranty all at once.

Make sure it is clean before you take it in. You might be OK. I had one replaced by my dealer a while back, but a buddy of mine was rejected and paid the dealer (or stealer) $700.

Replacing the seals in a stock Dana 30 is actually pretty easy.

Default Happened at 22k

Just had the same issue, driver side was leaking at 22k and it seems to be a common issue. When I asked about mods my dealership said anything under 4 they turn a blind eye to... They replaced both sides while they were in there too!

Whew! I don't feel bad then with my 14 and 36k miles on it since you've got the same!

How long is our powertrain warranty anyway?! 3/36k is the bumper to bumper...right?!

5/100,000 on 14's. I had my front seals replaced at 34000. I have 35's and 2.5" lift and there was no issue. Mine is a D44 and they were backordered so a common problem.

Service manager called. Front seals and front axles are toast and they are replacing under powertrain warranty. Real seals also blown apparently so they are replacing those too. Tried to charge ne for rear diff service $285. Told them no thanks. Should be back by tues/wed. Thanks everyone for input.
