Default Wife wants her 14 jku "taller".

My wife's 14 jku currently has a tf 1.5" leveling kit with 285/70r17's. She wants it taller. I was thinking flats and 35's any suggestions on the flats. I'm looking at the mce and bushwackers. Not really interested in the metal flares.

Sounds like a good plan. But there's really no comparison between the bushwackers and the MCEs. The MCEs are in a completely different league.

I would save and do metal cloak. I have Bushwackers. They are solid but do not look nearly as good as Metal Cloaks. I put the MCE's in the same league as BW in as much as they just do not look nearly as good as MC's. Everybody has different taste and this is just my opinion. First time I saw Metal Cloaks in person I was bummed I did not go that route.

Bushwhackers are weak if you wheel your jeep and touch anything they come off. The are only held on with a few small screws and some double sided tape. I prefer poison spyder aluminum flares they are strong and won't ever come off. Just my opinion though. I would never do plastic flares again.

I have wheeled with mine, they are not held on with double sided tape. The double sided tape only holds the rubber trim piece on. I don't like how mine look but you could sit on them if you wanted and they are rock solid. Perhaps you have seen some that where not properly installed. I wheel my jeep. I don't race KOH but I have done the Rubicon trail, go to Moab and do 6,7, and 8 trails and lots of local trails. Doing the Dusy this summer. I have made contact with rocks and trees and no issues. They are ugly tho.

Bushwhackers are not good for tight wooded trails and are pretty easy to remove if you run up against a tree. Don't have that kind of wheeling out here. If you are not wheeling they look great and are light in weight. Pita to install imo.

I would love to go with the metal cloaks but unfortunately my wife wants to stay with plastic. If it was it would definitely have metal cloaks

For what it's worth, I have metalcloaks on mine, overline front and rear. While they are fantastic, they do have their issues. MCE's are the only non metal fender I would ever consider. They are well designed, well made, vastly superior to any other plastics I've ever been up close and personal to (including bushwackers).

Since the mce's actually look stock and aren't completely flat on the rear think they will give it the lifted look like true flat fenders do?
