AGR JKX HD steering gear box
http://www.agrperformance.com/Jeep-A...rsports-JK.htm
I stumbled across this yesterday while researching steering gear boxes. My stock box has developed some play: you can turn the steering column, and see it turning on the input side of the box, and there is zero movement in the output side at the pitman arm. It has zero leaks, just has slack.
I have seen that there are endless negative reviews recently of AGR gear boxes and customer service, so that is a concern, but this is the only page for info I have found on these specific gear boxes. No MSRP, not even certain how to determine which would be appropriate for my 2013 2 door manual Rubi. I haven't found any listings for these boxes on any other sites.
I'm sure they are more money than I would be wanting to put in, but I don't really want hydro assist. My steering is plenty forceful enough for my 35s, I just don't want to develop play in my steering gear box after every third wheeling trip. So I don't really want to replace it with a stock box.
I would likely be adding a sector shaft brace with whatever route I go on replacing or having my current box rebuilt.
Anyway, anybody have any info on these?
Thanks,
Happy Jeeping!

Ok, got an email back from Matt at AGR.
The JK Xtreme steering gearbox for my jeep has an MSRP of $703. To get the box for my jeep set up for a hydro assist is $757.
He said if I am running the proper box for my jeep, either of the two part numbers he sent me, it would be set up to match the stock settings, and I won't have any issues with the traction control.
Anybody out there running one?

If you read my original post you would notice that I already have slop in the factory box, (just over two years of use) meaning it needs to be rebuilt or replaced, so it's not that simple. Not going to add a hydro onto a sloppy box. I'm not having issues with the box not having enough force, I'm having issues with the stock box wearing out prematurely which is very common to apparently all of the factory components, and i'd rather not just through another junky ass factory box on there and go around replacing or having them rebuilt every time I go out wheeling.
Thanks.

And, yes, you're having issues with your box because you're running 37s and forcing that box to work under conditions it wasn't designed for.
But hey, if you think you need a $700 gearbox then go for it.
