Default Tuffy Security Drawer Warning

I've got a friend who has had multiple jeeps and moved his Tuffy drawer between the jeeps, no big deal. Recently during a trip to the Outer Banks he noticed that the box was missing when he came out to the jeep the next morning.

Please take the time to fully secure your box and ensure all mounts are solid.

The box was empty (congrats thieves) but the right hand tab is broken off. If you see the box pop up on CL and the right tab is missing, there's a possibility it's stolen.

Just a word of advice.

Thanks! I'll keep this in mind when I install mine.

To remove the drawer, did the scumbag thief(s) unscrew the front seat bolts or lever-out the box with a crowbar or similar ? They must have wanted it bad.

He used a wrench and pulled the seat bolt. Here's the crazy part- they put the one bolt back in (because the passenger side mount was broken). My friend was supposed to be coming over to the house to have it welded back up.

I'm considering welding the box to the seat. If you want the box then you'll have to take the whole seat. I've had the jeep for 5 years and very rarely have I needed to pull the seats out.

Crazy story. The seat bolts are bloody tough to unbolt, they feel like have Loctite or anti-screw compound in them to retain them for safety --- was a motivated thief, that must have spent a while doing it.
