Default 2.5 vs 3 Suspension lift

Hey hope to to put a lift on my new 2015 stock JK this year and have been looking at the Quadratec site. To many suspension providers to choose from AEV, Skyjacker, ect. Any thoughts on which company makes a better preforming set up.

You are gonna get 10,000 different opinions from everybody on lift brands. But I got rock krawler 3.5 for my 2 door and i like it. You need to ask yourself what you plan todo and what size tires you wanna run first. Remember you do get what you pay for from suspension components, and your suspension is most important thing on jeep besides tires.

Like said you really need to look at down the road ultimately how you want your jeep to look and perform. IMO if it's going to be at least 50% daily driver
I would look at AEV or JKS JSpec kits. And remember having a Jeep is a addiction so just admit to it now that way you can justify all the mods you do. Lol...

If you haven't seen it mentioned at least a dozen times before, there are two threads stuck right to the top of this modified area. Get yourself a better understanding of what problems are involved with lifting, and what each specific component actually does.

Why? Because even if you find the perfect answer to your question of which company to buy from, that company will likely have several different versions of a lift with various options for components. Better to go into it with an idea of which components you will want, so you can start narrowing down the list yourself rather than buying just because some nameless person on the internet told you to...

And by the way, I have a metalcloak 3.5" lift. So it is automatically the only lift you should be looking at!!!

You have plenty of options for sure. Consider doing it right the first time and spend the extra money to get the most complete setup you can afford. I got Metalcloak's 2.5 true dual rate kit and added front lower control arms to it. I probably could have gotten away with using just what came in the kit, but I plan on adding the rear control arms when I can afford it. I did get the Rocksport shocks with mine and even though they are cheap (price), in my experience they have been pretty good to me. It has been about 7 months since I installed them and the only problem I have had was a little surface rust from the plastic dust shield rubbing through the paint. My buddy has an AEV 3.5 kit on his with Bilstein shocks and compared back to back, mine rides a little bit softer, he says he can't feel the difference. Besides suspension we have identical jeeps. Ultimately, like others have said, it comes down to what you want to use it for and how much you're willing to spend. Anyone can tell you what to get, if you can, see if you can get a few people with different setups to let you take a ride and see how it feels to YOU.

I currently have 3" teraflex coils, fox 2.0 shocks, and aev geometry brackets and i like it. It's not a terrible ride, but I wish I would have done more research on the coils themselves. Lots of people talk about the sagging in teraflex coils vs other ones. Now I haven't seen that yet, but I've only had my lift for about 10-11 months, so I can't say for sure. But I do recommend buying an entire lift kit vs parting out like i did. Parting out was a good way for me to learn what all goes into my suspension, but it took me a month or so to get it all b/c I kept forgetting things (such as the exhaust spacers)...

I agree with the replies. Be honest with the following. Budget and vehicle use. Huge gap from a entry level kit to a full blown rock crawling, desert running kit. Both can be just 2.5 to 3 inch lift heights. If you list a budget then I can help narrow down what options our customers have been happy with.

I just installed the OME 2.5 light duty kit last weekend. It's a big difference in the smoothness of the ride over stock. Another huge benefit is the lack of noise. Every little bump I hit with the stock suspension and it was just noisy. Creaking so much it drove me crazy. OME is nice, smooth and quiet. I was able to put 35s on it with ease. I drive it everyday and only go off road 3-4 times a year but all update this again after being on the trail.
A little pricy but a very nice lift kit. Fairly easy to put in too.

Does OME make a 2.5? I thought they only did 2s and 4s... light and HD!!!

They make like 15 or 20 different coils for the JK, divided by model and load rate. Shouldn't be hard to find a chart listing all the options. Most people will just say light/medium/heavy for whichever model jeep, but you might also see the individual tag numbers getting asked about.

What it comes down to is that even though the heavy coils might 'say' 2", they will give that 2 inches of lift to a very loaded down jeep. But those very same 2" heavy coils will give 3.5" to a light jeep. along with a very stiff ride.
