Default What shocks would give most comfortable ride for daily driver?

Now before everybody starts jumping all over this and saying buy another type of vehicle, I gave my 2012 JKU Sahara to my wife when I bought a new Silverado. She does not go off roading at all, but enjoys being able to remove the top and doors. She loves the Jeep other than how stiff the suspension is when you hit a bump, drive over tracks, etc. When I bought it in 2012 I installed 2.5 inch pucks for the lift but never changed the shocks which is something I probably should have done at the time. It also has 33 inch Duratracs. My question is what would be some good suggestions for shocks that will deliver a smooth ride specifically for being a daily driver? I know there are some adjustables that are around $100 but probably wouldn't need to spend the extra for that. Any good suggestions for about a budget of say $400 would work and would greatly be appreciated. Thanks guys!

King 2.0's will give you the best ride.

I asked the same question to a builder and his response really made sense. Most people will spend thousands of dollars on a lift but skimp on the shocks when the shocks are what gives you the best ride on road.

I think you just missed ranchos October sale. I got mine from Offroad evolution for $330 with $120 rebate on top, leaving the total to be $210. Hard to beat them for that price if you ask me.

I fievkf to mention I was referring to the rancho 9000s.

No experience with the Ranchos but I would suggest the Metalcloak Rocksport shocks or Old Man Emu long travel shocks (my suspicion is that they are one in the same). Very happy with these and very comfortable both on and off road. And they are very affordable.

I find nothing special about mine. My suspicion is they rebox Gabriel shocks and throw a bunch of stickers with them. Lol.

the OP said it won't go offroad, Would be Kings be awesome? you bet, but driving back and forth to the store I would still go with the 5000X's.

I've got the 5000x's on my daily driver 36k miles/ year. They're shocks and with the 4dr it's less critical with shocks, you'll get a better ride with the length of the vehicle. I wouldn't buy the 5000x's again but they ride fine down the road. They're not buttery but they're not rigid, they're just plain old shock absorbers.

Wait for the Rancho sale and get the Rancho RS9000XL adjustable and tune the ride to her taste. Very affordable shock and should easily fit your budget.
