Default What tire size and recommended brand tires??

Hey everyone, I hope I'm posting this in the right place. I have a 2015 Willy (not sure if that comes with any kind of lift or upgraded suspension) and have 255/75/17 currently (stock for Willy) that are ready to be upgraded!! I want bigger, taller for sure but I do not want the squatty look. I was planning on 285/70/17 but I'm reading there isn't much of a difference? Thoughts and suggestions appreciated

If you're not doing wheels with more backspacing you may need spacers depending on the tire width you choose.

I ran 305 70 16s with aftermarket wheels 4.5" bs and no lift on my 2007 for about a year with no issues at all.

As far as tires, duratracs from goodyear get great reviews as well as anything nitto or toyo.

I personally am partial to made in USA. Cooper

Thanks so much!!! I've heard that spacers can cause that squatty look? Do you recommend upgrading my wheels too? I really don't know about wheels lol. I don't mind getting what I need to get the look I want, ya know? Let me find some pictures to post and maybe that will help identify what I need? 😬

I think this was my TF 1.5" lift but certainly stock wheels and spacers with my American made Cooper tires (before they took off and everyone was buying. The blue jeep behind mine has no lift and 2" wheel spacers with no lift. Both have 285/70-17 tires. IMO, nothing 'squatty' about what I had. I've lifted and changed wheels now to keep it interesting after 6 years of owning it.

You will need to run wheel spacers or get new wheels to run a 285, which I ran for awhile (duratracs because I found a deal), you need at least a 5.5"" backspace wheel factory 6.5"( or so) or you will rub on swaybars and potentially brake lines... ask me how I know... I also did a budget boost of 1.5" just to add some clearance to the body and better looks. Jeep looked great. Did the same setup on my wife's 15 2 door. I used teraflex 1.25" spacer which gave the space without being excessive. Tires are a matter of preference, go with quality name brand in the style you like and keep the weight low to help your front end.

285/70/17 will only gain you 1/2" more in height, but they will be quite a bit wider, which is why you'll probably need spacers or more offset/backspacing in your wheels.

How do I achieve the look of the white Jeep? Tires, wheels, lift?
