Hey guys, I am relatively new to wheeling, got my first Jeep JK about 2 years ago and have been learning ever since. One thing I have always bounced around with is what PSI i run on the street (its my daily). Obviously, i love the soft, smooth ride being around 25-30psi, but I know it is killing my gas mileage and tires. My main question is, what PSI do you run on the streets? Also, can I do harm to any components running too low pressure on the streets?
The height doesn't matter so much as the width of the tire and the width of your wheel.
Factory wheel (7.5") and 12.5" at a 'normal' street pressure will eat through the center of the tire. I'm running that combination at 32- the ride is what it is but I can rest assured that when I get on the brakes or have an evasive maneuver to make, the jeep will respond exactly as I expect.
315/70x17 Good Year MTR K (D rated) 17x8.5 Method Race Wheels. Average weight 2 door. Running 27psi. Tires are wearing nice and even with 25,000 miles so far.
Awesome, thanks for the replies guys, I am running 26 psi and loving how smooth it is, just wanted to make sure that was totally crazy for daily driving
Just picked up a 2020 Rubicon with 4K miles and a bunch of mods. I noticed the steering was twitchy. Looked at the tire gauge and 2 tires were at 75 and 2 at 60. I know crazy.
Wheels are fuel and tires are 35x12 BF Goodrich mud terrain. I’m thinking 35psi max? The tire shows 75psi on sidewall.

Like everyone else, you'll likely be happy around 30psi.

The pressure on the sidewall is max pressure for the design of the tire. The best pressure for the tire will vary based on wheel width and the vehicle. I would never run a common street tire at anything above 35 psi. The norm for off road tires seem to be between 25-30 psi.
