Gear Lever "Recall"
Today the local Jeep dealer did the "Recall" (not really) on my '15 Wrangler's manual transmission gear lever:

The result? Gear engagement is remarkably more solid and sure. The pattern is dramatically tighter. No more hunting for 6th gear. And I get the impression that the throws are shorter, but I think it's most likely because there's so much less "slack" in the linkage.
My Jeep has about 20K miles and the gear lever engagement has not degraded or changed since new. I test-drove several others with the same 6-speed manual and the feel was identical with all of them. Clearly the "recall" does something meaningful and is not what I would have expected just for a rubber spacer replacement.

Yes, I got the "customer satisfaction" notice in the mail.
Sounds like it was only certain 2015 and 2016 manual transmission JKs that had this issue, they seem to be build-date limited. Not surprising that all of the ones I test drove had it since they were late 2015 builds just before the 2016s came out.
I suppose if you didn't get the notice, there's nothing to fix.
But man, is it ever night and day different.
