Default Tyre Carrier Suggestions??

Well all my bar work is finally coming to completion...
I've got EVO front and rear bars, and JCR sliders currently at the powder coater.
Now I've just got to decide on a carrier!

Unfortunately I can't get the EVO cage in Australia for legality reasons as it covers the rear lights.

I've been looking at the Teraflex HD Hinge carrier, and the Poison Spyder and Genright Cage Carriers, but does anyone else have any suggestions?

Ace engendering and crawler conceptz have stand alone tire carriers also. Both good quality. Shipping will probably eat you alive though. Ace is the dark jeep crawler is on the red one. Click image for larger version

Thanks mate I'll check those out

Fortunately we've got a good shop in Western Australia than can import almost any Jeep part you want!

I have the Crawler Conceptz body mounted tire carrier and am very happy with it. Very solid, and will hold up to a 40" tire. The tailgate very easy to open as well.

I like that Ace gives you the bonus of some rotopax mounts. I really like the PS cage carrier, but dang it's pricey.

Anybody see a real benefit to the hinge carriers that mount directly to the tailgate (like Teraflex or Metalcloak) vs. the hinge models that are tied to the tailgate but not mounted directly on it (like CC or Ace)?

I have the Teraflex hinge and it still looks new after a year in the sun. I do really like the Ace one though.

I got one of the first Tera Flex hinge mounts in late 2011-2012ish. Still perfect! getting ready to purchase another for my new 2017 Rubicon.

I personally think the hinge models are more durable, but the install is a bit more involved. The facory hinges are very small. I run the Crawler Conceptz carrier, and it is very beefy and well built. The heim joint allows the tailgate to open surprisingly easily witj a heavy beadlock and 37" tire.

Both styles are a huge upgrade over the factory piece.
