Default HELP !!Water coming in from the passenger side.

Hello Everyone ,

I have a JKU 2016. I had an issue yesterday while doing a water crossing (about 12 feet wide) it got hood deep and went right out to the other side. the point is i sealed the air box when i put on the snorkel and it seems to be air tight but when i got to the other side i had water coming into the car though the passengers side right above the leg area.

My question is does anyone know where the water could have come in through? also on the 2016 is there any other point i should seal that might have missed?

i checked the firewall entry that is by the pillar area that has a foam sealing it and it was dry right after the water crossing so i discarded that part out.

any thoughts?

THANK YOU!!

Please don't take this as sarcasm, because it's not. But do realize, despite the great water fording capabilities of the JK, it's still a jeep and not a boat. It will never be completely water tight, though some may seal better than others. Despite your best efforts to get it sealed up, you may never have a completely water tight interior. In knowing this, and as to avoid a wet interior in my not yet paid for JK, I avoid water crossing deeper than the bottom of my doors.

This is also why Jeep interiors (including electronics) are water resistant.

My 16 does this just sitting in the driveway during a light rain. I definitely avoid high water crossings.

Mine has two on a couple occasions. Replacing a couple door seals fixed the problem, if it is coming down the front of the door. Dealer fixed under warranty.

tes,of course that i know... but the amount of water thatc ame in its not normal i havea Toyota land cruiser 80 and have done the same types of crosses and havent had an issue and were talking about a car that is over 20 years old so i wouldnt spec the jk to have such openings considering its an offroad inspired vehicle hope that made sence.

If water was flowing onto the hood, it was probably flowing into the air intake in the middle. That would go straight into your passenger footwell.

That is correct. It happened to me all the time when I used to go through the deep holes. It is going through the cabin intake air vent on the hood and coming out around your air vent motor under the dash.
