Default Tips to freshen up looks of aging JK:

How do you keep yours looking newer after so many years?

Seat covers
Head light polish
Plate frames
Expensive detail to get all the nooks and crannies
New windshield
Fix dings and scratches
Paint undercarriage

Share your tips! Mine's getting old. Needs some TLC.

Mine seems to be constantly dirty! Running fenderless makes it hard to keep clean. I'm ok with it though as it helps cover up any scratches or dings I've acquired. LOL. I think you have some good ideas there in your list. Interior wise, some katzskin leather can really transform the interior. Hydro dip interior trim pieces for a unique touch. Add some nice wheel well/fender liners (options are getting down below $200 these days). Realize those ideas require some capital. Touching up/painting your axles and undercarriage go a long ways, but you might be the only one to appreciate your efforts.

I blew mine apart to clean and paint everything. Pulling out the carpet and cleaning that up helps too. I put back to black on the dash and center console. Moving to the premium soft top (darker) and doing new headlights and the clear marker lights in the grill does wonders too.

Mountain grille, TruckLites, Mopar premium top, Mopar marker lights, and a full detail on the interior as well as the wheels.

Have you noticed that headlights on new vehicles have illuminated trim inside the lights? Looks really nice but it requires day time running lights. I wonder if those can work on a 2008 JK. Those new headlights really add an upgraded look to any vehicle.

Great ideas btw.

Depending on what the cost of a professional detail is, you could invest in a good buffer, pads, and product that will pay for themselves many times over in the future. I have a Porter Cable 7424 with a set of Meguiars pads. I find that Meguiars DACP takes out most the scratches and Four Star Ultimate Paint Protection will leave the finish feeling and looking like glass. I bought that stuff years ago to use on BMWs. My jeep doesn’t get pampered like the cars used to, but I do try to clean it up and polish it once a year…..removing most the wheelin’ pin striping. Links below.
