Interest Window Decals

So I see them around all the time. Does anyone know where I can get those window decals that show things like hiking, geocaching, etc in those little square boxes like you see on maps and at parks?

What is the application? Do they serve a functional purpose or are they for "look at me" value? Just curious.

I've bought several JEEP-related stickers on Ebay. The Sellers don't continously offer them, so keep checking for new listings.
