Thought I'd share in case anyone wants to leverage this design. I wanted a bike rack for my '12 JKU and didn't want to have something permanently on the back, keeping it from fitting in my garage and getting in the way of the gate. Took note of the light mounts on the ARB Bull Bar and had a friend custom fabricate the pictured swing out arms. Bought some $20 Thule cradles and straps on Amazon designed to fit on a 1" bar and, Viola, I've got a completely custom always-there bike rack that looks like it was born on the jeep.

Spare tire mounts are pretty cheap and don't block your headlights, signal lights and rad cooling. They're not really permanent other than a tube poking out the center of the spare tire hub.

It is an interesting design but it is not where I would feel safe putting an expensive mountain bike.
