Default 2012 JKU automatic won't shift

Was having issues coming up from San Antonio Texas to Longview Texas. Jeep was doing a lot of shift going up and down hills, which is normal with 5.13 and 38's I guess. The issue turned into it getting hung up in 4th. Had to pull over kill It and it worked fine. Then the issue tuned into its hang up in first. Had to repeat the killing and starting it again. Now that doesn't even work. I'm stuck in first. Can't bump the shifter left or right to make it shift either. Throwing a code of P0501 "vehicle speed sensor A range/performance. Any input helps thanks.
