Default Bushwacker flat fender deal!!!

4 Wheel Parts is offering 10% off a set of all 4 fenders. Free shipping and no tax! Add to that, a prepaid VISA card for $125! Originally $599, I already had a $30 gift card. I'm gonna wind up stealing these for $375. (They use the stock fender liners as well) C'mon brown Santa!!!

Time. Will. Tell. LOL. Some people have luck with these, some don't. I bought some few years back.....wanted em bad for clearance, but was conscious of weight as I tow my jeep as well. They got beat to high holy hell on my rig....after ~18 months I was done. Tired of fixing em all the time. Ripped em off, went to fenderless, haven't looked back.

Hopefully they work well for your purposes. Take your time cutting the liners and don't get sloppy. The liners do sit nicely up in a lip on those flares, but there's not a whole lotta room for error in your trimming otherwise they'll hang out a bit. I found a nice sharp box cutter was actually easier tool to trim those with.

The bushwackers were the one thing I regretted installing. While mine held up well they just are not good looking compared to Metal cloak. Every time I looked at them I regretted installing them.

The one thing I regretted too, first time I brushed up against a rock it pushed my rear quarter panel in where it hit. It didn't absorb the hit it just transferred it to my quarter panel. My steel one now spread the load of a hit a lot better. Not only that it took 8hrs to install the Bushwackers, they were a PITA.

I slide by a tree in a tight trail.....didn't hit it, didn't bounce off it, just slid by it....same result. pushed whole quarter panel in on the rear. The Bushwackers were the whole reason I now have PS corners in the rear.....to hide the damage. Over the course of 18 months, I think I had to remove and repair all except the front driver's flare....at least once. A couple of them twice.

Well shit. I was tired of my faded plastic POS stockers and knew these would allow a little more growth in tire size. Now I'm having second thoughts. But we all fell for the appeal of them.....

We have ours for 4 years now and still like them. They hold up just fine.

Wasn't trying to burst your bubble. Maybe they'll work great for your purpose....like they have for 4x4chick. We all use our jeeps differently, so just depends on what types of things you do. I spent I think $550 when I bought mine. I was pissed cuz by the time I tore em off they were worthless as far as resale. One of very few things I've had that was just a total loss of funds pissed away in the wind. Wish I had just put that towards metal to begin with. Luckly, I'm very happy being fenderless now.

One more tip.....If you remove your doors at all, be extra careful. Getting the typical JK ding on the cowl (from the mirror) is one thing, but those Bushwackers will give you a nice crease on your front door as well when you fail to anchor the door straps in time! Ask me how I know.

So I recently got rid of my Bushwackers and I had them on for a few years. I dug them at first but then they look like giant ears on the Jeep at least up front. It came down to what suited me. For me...I wheel a few times a year and try to be relatively conservative in terms of, "Let's not roll the Jeep" or lay it on its side....with the exception of an incident in November! I ended up getting the Smitty XRC flares that you see for ~$250-$299. I've heard it all...they'll crumple, etc. And while the metal is thin, they at least prevent me from running flare-less and they look rather nice...AND they come powdercoated. I've had them on for a few months now and I really dig them. If I whack a tree and they crumple, buy a new set. I'd be able to do that 6 times before I got to the price of some Poison Spyder, GenRights, MC, etc. AND paint or powdercoat. I just figured I could use my money elsewhere other than flares.
