I am debating between 33" and 35" tires. What size lifts look best with these tires? Also would you have to regear when upgrading to 35's? Lastly, how is the gas mileage affected? This is mainly the DD with occasional off-roading. I like the looks of the 35's but want the opinions of others. 2016 JKU Sahara automatic

I think i'm gonna go with the 35's with a 2.5 Teraflex 9550 lift kit. Does anyone have preferences for lift kit brands and sizes? Dont want to break the bank either. Thanks

 

2.5" lift & 35"s is what I would do. If you have 3.21 gears I would re-gear eventually down the road. With 3.73 gears it's still gonna be sorta sluggish, but manageable...

 

Regearing will depend on what you have now. 33's look small to me on a JK, but opinions will vary on that and the only one that matters is yours. Obviously the larger the tire, the more you'd need to consider regearing, the more the fuel economy is gonna dip, and the more stress you'll be adding on all wear & tear components. Looks start costing ya. Also, the higher you lift, the more the cost is gonna add up. You're probably looking mainly at 2-2.5" with either 33s or 35s.

For 35's it depends on what you have, but I would probably re-gear for MPG/torque and use flat fenders for clearance with the 2" lift. As resharp001 mentioned, as the tire size or lift goes up, so does cost, fuel use, wear and potential breakage.

 

35's flat fenders and a 0-2" lift. Re-gear to 4.56. Keep it low for handling and stability as well as slightly better aerodynamics for MPG's but you should expect to loose 4-5 mpg. If you stay with factory gears expect the mpg losses to 8-10 depending on how you drive.
