Default 3.5" metalcloak or 4" evo plush for 40s?

Getting ready to make the jump to 40s, and before everyone starts saying "well you need this and you need that" my last jku was on 42s for 4 years on built d44's with no issues so.... Anyways, currently im on 3" evo plush on 37s and was wondering if the 3.5" metalcloak will let 40s fit with some xtra trimming and more bumpstop, or should I just got with 4" evo plush?

any help and pics will be appreciated.

thanks,
Donnie

New rig also a JKU? Going with flat fenders or keeping the stockers?

It'll fit with flat fenders, assuming you bumpstop it accordingly. You'll have limited up-travel but you'll gain it back in down travel. You'll need adjustable control arms if you don't already have them, so you can push the tire into the center of the wheel well. You'll probably need to trim your rear pinch seams (behind the tire) and in front if you haven't already.

Not going to comment on drivetrain since we don't see eye to eye, but if it works for you then cheers.

Let us know how it goes.

Either or bro. Both are top shelf. I've had both. Actual lift height will be close between them and neither is going to be that much over what you have right now. But for 40's why not go higher and keep some up travel? MC has a 4.5" and 5.5" these days that I'd consider for running 40's.

Already have flat fenders and metalcloak adjustable arms, and have already trimmed. For drivetrain I'm gonna go ahead and finally regear to 5.13 and add rcv front shafts. Already have front trussed, gusseted, and LCA skids, 1310 driveshafts and chromoly shafts in the rear

Trying to keep lcg as much as possible, don't mind doing the extra trimming. Lol and I want it to still fit in my garage.

I've been on 40s with EVO 4" plush for quite some time now. Not too high and with the trimming it's fine. To me it's the correct stance. I'll try to upload a pic a little bit later off of my phone.

I'm running the MC 3.5 Gamechanger with 37's currently. I trimmed my stock fenders and haven't rubbed yet when flexed. I'm currently running 4" of bump stop, but about to drop to 3, just haven't had time to flex it out in the shop to measure.

I have a friend running the 4.5 MC Gamechanger and it doesn't sit much higher than mine, plus for the money it comes with high steering drag link and new tie rod. Both will allow for 40's no problem.
