Descriptive Review of Bestop Windjammer/Duster/Freedom Panels
A little background: 07 two door jk with hardtop, soft top, and windjammer/duster combo. This review is about the bestop windjammer/duster combo matched to my hardtop freedom panels. The windjammer is the 2 door non-wraparound windjammer. First I think the combo looks great on my 2 door. Below are a few pictures (sorry for the phone camera quality).

The combo looks pretty nice. The windjammer leaves about 2-3 inch gaps around the soundbar between the door and rollbar. The duster attaches nicely to the windjammer via zipper.

To remedy the rollbar gap I velcroed pipe insulation to the rollbar and up onto the soundbar:

This setup leaks in a number of spots. When the water runs down the pipe insulation it leaks into the trim where the seatbelt is located. This is pretty much right over a couple drain plugs so not a big deal (if you don't have carpet). Also notice the small gap between the duster and the rollbar by the passenger and driver seat. Lots of rain drains here too but once again it leads to a couple drain plugs.

Also where the duster attaches to the rear rollbars water leaks in. The water drains down the rollbar and tub into the storage space and the jack storage spot (both have drain plugs so water will flow right out). Nothing I had stored in the back got wet so the duster does keep cargo dry as long as it isn't in the way of where the water drains out. I have an onboard pressurized water system which is the pump mounted to the rollbar and the hoses running down through the duster. The water leaked through on both that side and the opposite side.

So all in all the combo with the freedom panels will keep the cab and the seats dry but will leak but in pretty good spots if you are ok with a little water in you $30k vehicle. Like I said the water will drain right to the drain plugs. I had carpets in my jeep when I decided to test how waterproof the combo was and it got soaked in all the places I mentioned. I was upset to say the least but when I removed the carpet I realized that the tub is a lot like the bed of a truck and as long as the cab stayed dry with its seats and electronics all is good. I scored a killer deal on the combo on craigslist so I thought I would give it a try and let you know how it goes. Sorry for the many words and pictures but hope I helped someone out. (Sorry for the sideways pics but got super frustrated after trying forever to correct them)

Nice write up. I run the pavement ends version of this. And nor freedom panels, i have their cloth top.
I like it, it's mostly water proof and i like the look.
I had the besttop and pavement ends products in my hands at the same time, and could not tell a difference besides the tags.
I found the wind jammer to block my view more than i liked, so i ended up sending that back.

Nothing noticeable and i have been in some heavy rain with it. But not long enough to give it time to soak down. I have covered parking at work and at home, so the Jeep doesn't sit in the rain all day.
Instead of the windjammer, i have tinkered with the idea of making something out the material they use for the mesh tops. Possibly figuring out a way to attach it to where the soft top windows attach the the frame.
It would stop wind, provide a small degree of water resistance, and be see through.
Should be relatively easy to make, but i dont have a sewing machine.
